The Meaning of Elsewhere
Forgive me, for my mind is elsewhere.
Always elsewhere.
Yet nowhere have I seen this particular where.
Yet, I feel the grass under my bare feet,
the sun warming my back.
I feel the wind through my fingertips,
playing with my hair,
And while my body is... elsewhere
My mind wanders here.
Here where the cinnamon groves grow,
Among pearl pillars of roses and thorns.
And lately, a barn, a field made of wheat,
A raven,
A dog,
A turtle,
and me.
A child who;s eyes hold the earth, grass, and sky,
So familiar, as if from another life.
Perhaps this is where that elsewhere is.
A memory when time was not like this.
Where I reach towards a blur with a desperate hand,
'Till the vision slips through my fingers like sand.
