Wonderful Mercy
And I?
I will befriend the sky
In all it's beauty and penance
Do we behold the night!
In suffrage?
No, my friends,
My love,
We seek out only reason to rhyme
In this diamond sky.
But alas, alas!
Awake in the night!
Oh wonderful glorious penance,
How you have abandoned me so!
To keep pace with the moon-watcher
And those weary souls,
But to leave me in the dark earth
Covered in dirt, to be simple and forgotten!
Mercy! I thank you
For allowing me to breathe in this cool air.
To fill my lungs with moss and bark
And allowing me to call it my friend.
Acquaintance. Companion. Stranger. And Foe.
Dance in this revelry scene,
Only! Only to be unseen!
By the holy witness herself
Until dawn may grace her fingers
On the dew of the morning grass. .
